About the Gallery Shop
We are a group of about 50 artists and
craftspersons all living and working in Central
Pennsylvania.
We have been in business for 29 years.
The first 10 we were a part of the Art Alliance of
Central Pennsylvania. We are now independent, but we have
a close working relationship with the Art Alliance.
Our mission is to serve two communities:
- The General Community:
To sell original art and craft work from Central Pennsylvania to our customers. And, to educate our customers about the techniques used in the many different works.
- The Artist Community:
To provide an outlet for practicing studio artists who live and work in Central Pennsylvania.

Mary Beth Wiseman
Mary Beth Wiseman attributes her artistic inspiration to the beauty she finds in nature. She haunts the trails along Spring Creek near Bellefonte, capturing her observations with her camera. Once home, she translates the photos into portraits by hand carving her subjects into locally sourced wood, using a variety of chisels, gouges, and planes. The bas-relief carvings are then painted with acrylics. This technique produces a stunning dimensional effect in the final piece. Mary Beth hopes that her photos and carvings will foster a greater appreciation and awareness of the amazing creatures and environment that we all share.
Steve Strouse
Steve will display his Shaker style boxes made from locally salvaged hardwoods. Over the past few years he has expanded his craftsmanship into other functional items, such as utensils, live edge clocks and small tables. Featured this year will be live edge clocks made from the 150 year old Burr Oak tree, which was removed from beside the Galley Shop.
"My desire is to make very functional pieces, which are also a display of the beautiful hardwoods found here in Central Pennsylvania."
